Our Mission

Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca is a year-round outdoor recreational and camping environment affiliated with the Iowa District East of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. One of the primary ways we carry out our mission is by offering a summer camp program for youth.

Each day at summer camp, campers begin and end each day with the Word of God and prayer, learn about Jesus Christ through Bible study and devotions, and  make lasting friendships. We value the use of God’s natural creation as a catalyst for sharing and teaching God’s Word to young people and their families.

Activities

Our campers have no shortage of things to do while at camp. Being that our programs accommodate campers in kindergarten up to high school seniors, our summer camp program features activities suitable for elementary campers as well as advanced activities for older campers.

Canoeing Archery Rock Climbing Zip Line

Summer Camp Theme

We spend time every day at Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca studying God’s Word. Each year, our Bible study is centered around a theme from Scripture. Though every camper learns the same theme, each program’s Bible study is modified to fit the age group of the program. Campers also participate in multiple devotions each day that fit our Biblical theme and teaches them about Christ. Bible Studies and daily devotions are led by trained camp staff.

Pastor of the Week

Each week, Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca has a Pastor of the Week who leads multiple prayer services each day as well as nightly campfire devotions. The prayer services and nightly devotions are centered around the summer camp theme. In addition to these, the Pastor of the Week will lead an “Ask-the-Pastor” session during each full-week of camp, where campers can ask the pastor any pressing questions they may have.

Pathfinder Camp

With Pathfinder Camp, older campers begin to unlock the depth of the camp experience with more advanced Bible studies and activities that emphasize team building while still enjoying their favorite past camp activities.

Adventure Camp

Two fantastic state park trips featuring canoeing, hiking, and rock climbing are the hallmark of Adventure Camp. Campers will go to Lake MacBride State Park and Palisades Kepler State Park.
