How You Can Help
Each year, thousands of people come through Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca’s gates. Most notably, in the summer, we’re host to hundreds of campers, providing them with Christ-centered education, recreation, and inspiration. It’s an exciting mission, and it doesn’t end there! Though our primary mission is met through our summer camps, it is continually accomplished when youth, families, congregations, parachurch organizations, and schools use Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca year-round for the same purpose. Whether it’s a week of summer camp, a relaxing weekend reuniting with family, or a productive and educational weekend retreat, time at camp can be refreshing, motivating, impactful, inspirational, and even life changing.
If you believe that Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca can be these things for its guests, then you believe in Camp. You believe that teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to children is essential. You believe that Christian role models, such as our summer staff, can accomplish more good for campers’ lives than a summer of being glued to a screen. You believe that interactive, face-to-face friendships developed in a Christian atmosphere are so much more worthwhile than “friends” and “followers” online. You believe that time in God’s Word is an important part of life and living, and that at Camp, God’s Word can be learned thoroughly and applied to life beyond the camp’s gate.
I BELIEVE IN CAMP is our campaign for raising support for Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca, and there are many ways in which that happens. Donations, volunteering, attending a workday, and contributing to or attending our annual Auction Fundraiser are the key ways in which individuals, families, organizations, and congregations support the mission of Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca. Do you believe in Camp?
Our supporters have shown time and time again that the answer is yes. Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca has been regularly supported with prayers, supplies, money, donations, volunteers, and most importantly, campers and guests! This is all thanks to people who believe in Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca. Whether you’ve been a camper or staff member in the past, a volunteer, a parent or grandparent, or have attended any other event on camp, please support Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca and help ensure it has all the support it needs to carry out its mission. Workdays
Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca hosts a Spring Cleanup and a Fall Workday where anyone can come volunteer to help keep Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca a beautiful camp. For Spring Cleanup, we need your help in preparing the site for its busy season in order that our mission of providing Christ-centered education, recreation, and inspiration might be accomplished. Our Fall Workdays often center around bigger projects or renovations and preparing many of our facilities out on camp for the winter. Stay tuned for information in the Messenger and on Facebook for details about these events. The Spring Cleanup is usually in late April and the Fall Workday is normally at the end of October.
Donations
There are several ways to donate to Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca. Beyond that, there are several different ways you can direct your dollars. Donating is as easy as mailing in a check to Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca, but you can also donate online. You can give one time donations or setup recurring donations through I BELIEVE IN CAMP Monthly Giving. You can also donate to all kinds of different funds. We have a camp scholarship fund that donors contribute to and directly send campers who wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend summer camp. Many people also contribute to facilities improvements and new purchases for program equipment.
Beyond financial contributions, Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca relies on in-gathering donations such as paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, stamps, Kleenex, and cleaning supplies to keep its costs down. We even look for in-kind donations such as vehicles, ATV’s, and tractors.
Thrivent Members
Are you a Thrivent member? Then there are a few key ways in which you can support Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca! The Thrivent Choice program encourages benefit members to recommend where Thrivent Financial distributes an amount of its charitable grant funds. Members make this recommendation by directing Choice Dollars to enrolled nonprofit organizations, including churches. This is free money! There are many projects that can be done to improve Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca to help us further our mission and make it a better and safer place for its guests. Through Thrivent Action Teams, you can apply for a $250 gift card. Just coordinate with Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca in advance about a project, apply for the Action Team, and we’ll coordinate which supplies you’ll pick out. Even if you wish to do a service project as a major part of your retreat, your Action Team gift card can go towards your retreat payment!
