Our Mission and Vision
Leveraging a best-in-class outdoor recreational and camping environment, Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca exists to promote and provide Christ-centered education, recreation, and inspiration for individuals and groups of all ages. Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca offers year-round, Christ-centered programs that support the ministries of local congregations, nurture the faith of individuals and families, and motivate people toward congregational involvement and living in their God-given vocations.

Daniel Sanchez Camp Director
Daniel Sanchez has been with Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca since 2006, when he came on staff as a Program Assistant. By December of 2006, he was appointed as the Program Director and kept that title until early 2014, when he was named the new Camp Director. Daniel’s days in Lutheran Camping began in 2004 as a summer staff member at Lutheran Island Camp in Northern Minnesota. He is a 2005 graduate from the University of Minnesota-Morris. Daniel is married to Crysten and they have three children, Lydia, Judah, and Magdalena.
As Camp Director, Daniel oversees all areas of the camp and focuses on development, fundraising, policy, and financials.

Beverly Ahlemeyer Office Administrator
Beverly Ahlemeyer joined Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca in April 1996 in what was initially intended to be a short term, part-time job. She’s never left. In that time, she has had a hand in processing practically every donation, registration, and retreat contract. When not at camp, she is likely working in the three year-old preschool classroom, library, or as a substitute associate at Shellsburg Elementary School.
As Office Administrator, Beverly serves as our registrar for summer camp and deals with all sorts of communications that go in and out of Camp. She also helps to set up retreats and does invoicing for groups.

Andrew Folkmann Director of Programs and Retreats
Andrew Folkmann first began working at Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca in 2013 beginning as a counselor. He served for four summers (2013-2016), serving as Summer Program Director in his last summer. Andrew is a 2017 graduate of Iowa State University. He also previously served as Resident Camp Director at Camp Takatoka in Oklahoma (2018-2019). He joined the Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca staff in September of 2019 as our Director of Programs and Retreats.
As Director of Programs and Retreats, Andrew works hands-on with many of our guests and is responsible for the coordination of all retreat groups and Camp programs.

Dylan Lampe Site Manager
Dylan Lampe began as the Camp’s full-time Site Manager in January of 2020. He previously worked on the summer staff during the summers of 2018 and 2019, and was a camper for several years. Dylan graduated from Iowa State in 2019 with a bachelor’s in Animal Ecology. In January 2020, he joined Io-Dis-E-Ca’s staff as the site manager. Dylan also met his wife, Abby Lampe (Scheel), during his first summer on staff.
As Site Manager, Dylan is responsible for the maintenance and development of Camp’s land and facilities.
